MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM ZZ
i know this is supposed to be way more comedic than zeta. the main character is judau, i assume haman karn is the main villain, i know it's divisive. idk anything else that i can think of. the zz gundam looks ugly, but maybe i'll like it more in motion
Episode 2: The Young Man from Shangri-La
i'm skipping the first episode since it's a recap, and i think it has info on the beginning of zz that i'd rather just come across naturally
- our introduction to judau is in this nifty bit where he's salvaging old mobile suits drifting through space and he comes across the argama
- oh this is like an *immediate* followup to zeta. the argama's beat to shit, kamille is still on it in his magic coma, the kids are there
- the argama is a low priority entry into shangri-la because they're broke after beating the titans
- judau says the escape pod should net 10k "gillas", which i think is the first mention of currency in the franchise thus far
- wait, yazan's in the pod? i thought for sure he died. if a blond titan had to survive why couldn't it have been jerid!
- some guy named beecha comes in and demands the pod for himself, only to get grabbed by yazan
- judau's got moves! and a sick green motorcycle! and a sister who's worried for him!
- yazan looking like fucking vash the stampede
- after learning the argama's in town yazan hijacks a truck, which judau and the gang seem a-ok with
- yazan then hijacks the truck fa was driving kamille to the hospital with
- judau holds kamilles hand and has a newtype moment
- the guy who beecha bribes with oranges who tries to just chow down on it without peeling is very funny
- judau doesn't tell yazan about kamille, which was very nice of him
- fa: why aren't you in school?
judau: why aren't you? anyways, i gotta work since i'm poor and the war tore my family apart
- yazan starts fighting using the suit judau used to grab salvage. was surprised to realize this predates aliens, though obviously not by enough to have influenced it in any way. looks pretty similar to the power loader
- unsurprisingly, judau nabs the zeta. the look on his face as he's shouting about how he's going to sell it is pretty good
- after yazan kills a member of the argama (i think the guy who wanted to borrow kamille's porn) which makes the gang less on board with the plan
- judau doesn't know how to pilot the zeta though and starts breaking everything, heading further into the colony
- the soundtrack here is real good
- i definitely see what people were talking about, this is pretty fun
- visually too, a lot closer to something like ranma 1/2 than zeta was
- though yazan grabs a better suit, judau manages to blow it up. he just sort of survives somehow, which is very disappointing
- bright uses a tow cable to trip up the zeta, but judau manages to book it with his friends help
i liked that as a first episode! sets things up, manages a tone shift that isn't jarring, good character beats.
Episode 3: The Knight of the Endra
still no opening?
- starting off strong with the shangri-la officials scrambling over a briefcase of gold from axis
- this dipshit: there's no way these two enemy ships would fight in my colony!
- to avoid conflict the argama is getting towed into the colony proper
- oh i like mashymre already. holding a rose to look cool is such a funny beat
- the gang is still planning on stealing the zeta, but leina (his sister) is having none of it
- judau wants leina to go to school so she doesn't turn out like him, while she wants him to also go on the straight and narrow. it's an oldy but a goody
- he boards the argama with his petite suit
- oh my god, mashymre's rose has a whole backstory. this guy rules
- he's in too much of a hurry to even let them put a cockpit on!
- bridge crew: someone just snuck on the argama!
bright: jesus, it's this guy again. well, maybe letting a teen get in the god damn robot will go better this time
- shinta and qum are on kitchen duty and are just spewing bread everywhere, which is way funnier than anything they did in zeta
- judau's face here is very good
- shinta and qum helping judau is functionally the same as whatever they were doing with rosamia, but way less frustrating
- mashymre's attacking the argama, but judau just climbs on with some dynamite. this rules
- mashymre: of course you realize, this means war
- fa goes out to fight, but the methuss is so last show and hasn't been fixed up, so she's going to need help
- mashymre monologuing to/about his rose while judau runs off is so fucking good. this show is ridiculous in the best way
- he interprets judaus inability to pull out weapons as a desire for hand to hand combat between mobile suits
- he thinks judau must be a newtype because he's so bad at piloting
- of course judau manages a victory, but gives the zeta back.
this is a lot of fun. not much to say
Episode 4: Hot Blooded Mashymre
i just realized my torrent just doesn't include the openings for zz. bummer, it did for zeta and 0079. did the blu-rays not have it?
- the argama is burying itself in rubble to try and hide from the enemy. i assume if they had the crew they'd just leave, but they definitely couldn't survive a full assault like this
- mashymre checks into his hotel and pays with a gold bar. i love this show so much
- the guy mashymre is with has to change next to him to fit in better
- mashymre flashing back to haman karn ordering him is extremely good
- i enjoy the bits of the gang prepping to head to the argama, but it's all basically the same. i laughed at beecha shouting about how they needed to stop yelling about the argama
- mashymre is so offended by the idea of taking kamille hostage that he almost runs him over in his wheelchair
- i love mashymre. the sound effect when he hears the word girlfriend took me out, as did the pan over to his buddy just looking exhausted
- mashymre is so stupid. this show is a completely different bag than zeta, but i'm loving it
- judau manages to lasso mashymres mobile suit
- laughed out loud at mashymre closing the cockpit, it opening, and without missing a beat he says "the endra's mechanics aren't bad, are they?"
- judau telling everyone to their faces that he's going to steal their shit is also very funny
- the gang just going at him with a slingshot and bottles of sand rules
- this is all very good, fistfighting in the cockpit, the kicking at each other after falling out, mashymre flashing back to haman for motivation
- at some point you gotta figure it's on bright for not requiring keys to pilot the gundam
- they both get sucked into space, mashymre just barely closing his hatch in time
- obviously judau wins the fight and is forced back to the argama
again, good episode! not too much of consequence, but i'm enjoying myself a lot
Episode 5: Judau's Decision
i guess they're going to join the argama here?
- this rando offering to help mashymre is also great
- the slapstick is all working for me, idk what the people who dislike this are thinking
- fa and the orphans are giving judau the pitch about joining the argama
- love the big sign that just says JAZZ
- mashymre fondling his rose is still extremely entertaining to me
- this is the bit from spaceballs where lord helmet plays with his dolls, except that came out in 87. did mel brooks steal his jokes from japan? much to think about
- i like elle. i hope she doesn't go the same way as the women in zeta did
- yazan looking noir as shit. this is a completely different art style
- beecha is sleeping in class and his teacher throws a flowerpot at him. if this happened in zeta i'd have a lot to say, but as is: lol
- the kids are lining the field with those things they use to paint sports fields
- the fact that elle and fa drag the gang out of school to go fight for the argama is good to me
- new dude attacks the school because the kids drew a big ZG with the line marker (i googled it). sure, why not
- looney tunes shenanigans, they tie his legs and he trips
- yazan falls down a manhole. sure, why not
- fa doesn't do too well because she can't use the big guns
- the gang rolls a big water tank towards him so judau can run and ultimately get in the zeta
- judau starts doing mobile suit martial arts. the guys mobile suit is called the geze, and it has a movable cockpit. this ends up making him super dizzy and he can't fight
- judau cuts off his arms and learns it was mashymre
- mashymre has more flashbacks to haman saying things she absolutely did not say
- judau once again returns the zeta to the argama, and doesn't seem to pressed about the whole deal
liking zz a lot so far. i think i'm reaching about the point where i need plot to start happening, but the tone is really working for me despite how big a shift from the end of zeta it is
Episode 6: The Menace of the Zssa
what's a zzsa? guess we'll find out!
- mashymre is so unprepared for the realities of war. i love him, it's going to be very tragic when haman has him killed and doesn't remember him
- dream haman constantly giving him advice is incredible
- bright giving the orphans food to the gang as a bribe is incredibly funny to me. but also bright really sucks now, huh? the man learned the worst possible lesson from 0079 and it's the only tactic he knows now
- yeah judau, know your worth! demand fair pay!
- rare leina l trying to get him to work for bright
- judau deserved that slap, no sense ruining the meal even if they're trying to get you to work for room and board
- and now the meal thing is depressing
- judau: if they think they're getting child labor for a lunch they're wrong!
- judau's already hearing the enemy with his newtype powers
- there's a rich guy trying to get all his shit out before mashymre destroys the town. his shit gets wrecked immediately, i don't care
- no way fa isn't a better pick to pilot the zeta than astonaige
- mashymre is still extremely good
- yazan looks like shit
- fa trying to convince him by telling kamille's story is good at least
- the fights in this feel much more solid than most of zetas. more of a sense of place
- oh no! the rose!
- fa slamming mashymre with that beam was about as much as she contributed to all the fights in zeta combined
- rich guy loses all material posessions, and the episode is over
not wild about this one, but it was firmly alright. the comedy didn't land, but the fight and the plot were decent
Episode 7: The Gaza Storm
i'm liking this chunk a lot, but i do hope they start doing things soon
- the axis troops are also rumiko takahashi characters, and they want revenge on the zeta
- oh god it's the guy from episode 5
- gemon, i guess i need to learn his name
- i like the axis bit where they're doing blue angels stuff
- the argama is storing farm animals now? a chicken jumps on brights head
- quick joke about gemon being too fat for judau to hurt which i don't care for
- the axis troops stopping each other from shooting behind so they won't look like cowards is pretty good
- the guy giving the speech about how much cooler they are than the argama to the factory workers is also good
- beecha blowing up the colony he lives in less good
- roux introduces herself giving gemon a big bonk on the head with a lead pipe, which i liked to see
- oh my god, roux's in a core fighter! i like roux
- judau tells fa to get lunch ready while he fights :/
- the axis guys set up a smokescreen before realizing they can't see either. team rocket shit
- roux blows a hole in the colony while screaming "forgive me shangri-la!" which i appreciate
- i'm impressed they didn't use the same cut of the axis guys falling out the colony 3 times
- rip to those guys. who might be the first casualty of the show? can't remember
- respect to roux and judau for being shown repairing their damage
- episode ends with yazan stealing a pig. why couldn't it have been jerid? i'd have been so much more excited there
it's alright! i don't love it, but it's perfectly fine.
Episode 8: The Funeral Bell Tolls Twice
rip to whoever's dying i guess
- oh the episode starts off with a funeral for the axis guys who died last episode
- mashymre convinces them the best sendoff would be revenge
- junk dealers union going after chimatter
- judau decides he needs to handle this himself
- oh good, it's gemon doing all this. he's complaining about all the stuff that's happened in the show so far, which i appreciate
- yazan is messing with chimatter
- every time mashymre has a flashback to haman giving advice it's always in more elaborate scenarios. now he's having a one on one fancy dinner with her
- judau rescues chimatter while yazan and gemon fight over whether they should fight the endra or not
- in the commotion they accidentally set off the flare that indicates it's time for the argama to leave, so roux needs to open the hatch
- the argama emerging from a mountain of scrap is really cool
- the endra is on its way and judau finally gets back in the zeta
- yazan and gemon have no weapons on their mobile suits so they're just whacking the argama with junk
- rip gemon i guess
- yazan's yelling about everything the zeta did to him while judau's just like "it wasn't me!"
- roux opens the hatch and is holding the junkers at gunpoint with chimatter
- roux's cool. i like her a lot
- lmao, judau takes yazan out the same way kamille killed scirocco
- yazan bails, his suit crushes the endra's guns and it looks like the argama is good to go!
- the argama nails the endra, meaning it can't launch mobile suits and needs to retreat for the time being
- the argama leaves for the la vie en rose with judau & co on board
- mashymre throwing a funeral for yazan and gemon (and the pig yazan ate) is genuinely kind of sweet
glad to see things are moving! let's keep it up!
Episode 9: Judau in Space
judau in space? he's been in space this whole time! that's where the colony is!
- beecha's listening to the op and getting yelled at. always a solid bit
- they're preparing dummy asteroids. we've seen the balloons before but haven't actually seen the mechanisms. pretty cool!
- leina's assigning everyone new rooms including the people who were already there
- beecha's already selling the argama out? i'm not exactly surprised, but it seems a little early for that
- i thought mashymre was going to go "this is too easy, it must be a trap" but instead he's pleased with himself because him being so nice convinced someone on the argama to join the side of justice. good stuff!
- lmao at haman showing some skin for mashymre in his fantasies now. this is a very good bit
- the hamma-hamma looks pretty cool
- new blond enemy pilot alert! this guys new to piloting and he talks about his parents being proud of him. we'll see where he ends up
- roux gets caught but manages to talk her way out of being shot down. blondie (glemmy toto) is told to escort her to the endra
- glemmy thinks she's cute, which i'm sure will go extremely well for everyone involved
- bright's entire reasoning here is that newtypes won the last two wars he was in. he's right, but he shouldn't say it
- judau forgot his energy pack, so he's stuck without his rifle
- roux's plan of acting dumb about all the military equipment on the core fighter is working well
- lmao at her fake tears flying to the side
- judau leaves a massive stream of dummy asteroids
- mashymre does not realize that his fellow pilots are not newtypes, and therefore cannot be expected to magically know a real asteroid from a fake
- roux shoots glemmy('s suit) in the back, but he survives. she comes back to make sure he's ok. this can only end well!
- judau tricks mashymre with a dummy and cuts off the hamma hamma's arm
- mashymre leaves but not before revealing there's a traitor on board the argama
- roux: there's nothing to worry about, you must have misheard him!
i gotta say if i hadn't seen beecha send a message out to mashymre i would immediately assume it was you, and i'm still not 100% sure it isn't after that!
- and they find the la vie en rose by the end
this show is pretty solid! it's not anything special, but it's consistent so far. people said it had a rough start, but honestly this has all been pretty good
Episode 10: Sayonara Fa
oh, are we getting rid of fa? bummer
- fa's picking fights because she wants to be with kamille
- beecha still trying to sell out the argama, ties up... iino? the guy who didn't want to sell them out
- oh man, i love chara soon's design. wonderfully garish
- chara soon is unbelievably horny and wants mashymre to stop fucking around with the argama
- gottn, mashymre's second in command, is heading to the argama to meet up with the collaborators
- fa continues to be super frustrated
- beecha and mondo continue to sabotage the argama
- the zeta didn't charge it's rifle for the second episode in a row, so fa has to head out in the mostly broken methuss to recharge it
- beecha and mondo are in their normal suits taking potshots at the dummy asteroids so they don't mess up the endra's forces
- gottn sneaks in but elle is on his trail
- fa manages to charge his rifle, but when handing it back mashymre hits the methuss hard
- for a bit i was certain she was going to die, but she makes it
- with the rifle back now judau can take out the rest of the attackers
- roux comes back with the core fighter and rescues judau. i still like her a lot
- gottn finds iino in the comms room, only to get taken out by elle and the kids
- they're letting fa drift into side one so they don't get spotted. that's pretty shitty! i assume she'll be ok with it, but does she know that's the plan? fa continues to deserve better, and has for 60 episodes now
- and now they know for sure there was a spy, and suspect iino knows who
- sad string cover of the last opening plays as fa resolves to go back to kamille
ultimately i'm not that mad about fa, but it does rub me the wrong way. gundam has done female characters so much dirtier before though, and i'm sure it will do so again. elle and roux and leina are all neat, and i hope they stay that way
Episode 11: Activate, Double Zeta!
https://neocities.org/site_files/text_editor/zzgundam.html#
gonna be switching to a less detailed liveblog style here, since the last one was getting to be a bit much
- oh good, shinta and qum are letting the prisoner out. i still don't have any idea why they're there
- i like chara soon's panic attack or whatever, but the rest of this comedy is falling flat
- the obligatory fight was pretty good, the zz is a bit busy but i really like the face. looks like the first modern gundam head
i'm a bit cooler on the show than i was at first but i'm enjoying it enough
Episode 12: Leina Vanishes
- i like judau and co going and salvaging the zaku. pretty funny, but also really characterful
- glemmy's real dumb, though this wasn't as egregious as i feared it would become
- the zaku head zaku is really good
- chara soon showing even more tit sure is something.
this was a pretty good episode! i like the leina getting captured plotline and am excited to see it moving forward
Episode 13: Little Sister
if it wasn't episode 13 of 47 i'd be worried for leina's safety with a title like that
- it's nice to see judau coming up with plans to rescue leina, and the bathroom thing was neat
- everybody being worried over leina and it turning out glemmy was just running tea parties with her is really funny to me
- very funny that chara soon apparently didn't consider they'd just shoot the bombs. also good job elle, it's important to read the manual
- honestly a little shocked leina is still with axis
Episode 14 and 15: Moon Moon
i've heard some things about moon moon...
- this is just a star trek episode or something
- the giant being destroyed was good
- as hijinks go these are all perfectly serviceable, but i'm getting a little tired of it
- it's really astounding no one thought "twins!" upon seeing them
- props to elle for catching that spear, wonder if that's newtype foreshadowing or just a visual gag
- i didn't hate this, but it was pretty nothing. that's fine, but i hope the show picks up soon
Episode 16: Melee Aboard the Argama
- i would not leave my prisoners watched by the toddlers i keep aboard my ship for some reason. i'm just built different
- glad the stuff with bright and emary is done with
- this was a better plan than normal from neo-zeon
- i like elle a lot
Episode 17: Retrieve the Core Top
- i definitely would not leave my prisoner with the toddlers after SHE ALREADY TRIED TO ESCAPE!
- this cannon thing is really cool, and i'm loving everyones horrified reactions
- holy shit, it's the qubeley! the qubeley rules so hard, i wish i could get a decent high grade one but my local place never has anything other than gundams
- and a non haman karn pilot i recognize as ple from osmosis
Episode 18: Haman's Black Shadow
- uh oh. the ple stuff has bad vibes, but nothing too awful has happened yet. and without my outside knowledge of trends in anime over the years it works a lot better than the similar rosamia stuff in zeta
- beecha and mondo deciding to defect again is whatever, but the chase was fun
- the haman karn stuff is all really interesting. my interest in the show has risen dramatically now that she's here, just like in zeta
- glemmy sucks and is a weirdo, but also i didn't realize he was so high ranking? that's definitely a change they decided on between his introduction and now, there's no way this is where he was originally going to go
Episode 19: Ple and Axis
- i've decided to trust, and with that in mind i do like ple. the bit with judau tying her up was good, and i do feel sorry for her given her circumstances
- beecha and mondo continue to be decent comic relief
- glemmy really sucks
Episode 20: Tearful Cecillia, part 1
- oh god it's wong. at least bright's pissed about how he treated kamille. AND JUDAU KNEES HIM IN THE GUT!!!
- oh cecillia is so dead. this is like a worse miharu
- fight was good, and it was super satisfying to see them tell wong to fuck off
Episode 21: Tearful Cecillia, part 2
- gonna be honest i didn't realize chara was still being held captive. i thought she'd escaped in episode 17
- frankly it's astounding they keep giving chara these chances
- torres keeps slapping people this episode
- the whole final fight and cecillia's sacrifice were really good. this whole thing was better than anything in zeta imo
Episode 22: Judau, Sorties
- oh hey, it's the hyaku shiki. and roux is super flirting with elle
- beecha and mondo haven't changed at all. and neither have shinta and qum. judau's real dumb, huh
- haman karn's flirting here would probably work on me, i'll be honest
- firing the main cannon to dodge something is incredibly cool, but i have questions about the logistics of doing so with a beam cannon
Episode 23: Earth Ablaze
- ple in the brainwashing chamber :(
- glemmy did not seem this competent when he was introduced. his whole grooming leina thing was funny when it was just some random pilot being a weirdo, but now it's fully creepy
- glad everyone's talking about motivations and ideology and stuff here
- all the drama is really good here, this episode's not even halfway through
- this random aeug grunt has a really good talk with beecha, this show rules
- the fight was good, the stuff with ple is good, she's doomed and it's gonna be super depressing
Episode 24: Siblings' Love On The South Seas
- i like all the spacenoids adjusting to gravity, laughed at judau nearly diving off the side of the hangar
- taman's whole deal is pretty good. i love a good parallel
- i liked the little dig at all the aquatic suits zeon developed in the oyw
- glad to have a one off episode with a happy ending, this was pretty nice
Episode 25: Rommel's Face
i'm not opposed to the previously on's just becoming the setup for the episode and not actually what happened last episode, but it did confuse me here
- i like the desert logistics here! neat to see all these spacenoids getting used to sand
- i also really like these zeon guys leftover from the one year war, starting families and shit
- i'm really loving the more serious turn this show has taken! good stuff
Episode 26: Masai's Heart
- i love ple. she'd be miserable to spend time with irl, but i love her
- masai is the icelina/haman to a zeon grunt like the ones last time, but this one seems to have died before getting to attack the gundam crew
- this set of episodes has a really strong atmosphere
- good episode! the jazz going over masai's despair really got me, i'm a sucker for that sort of thing
Episode 27: Leina's Blood, Part 1
- on the one hand this is an incredibly ominous title, but on the other hand it's mineva! i love to see her, i hope she and leina can be friends and also get away from the weird grooming that haman and glemmy are up to
- this party scene rules, i love leina slowly freaking out from newtype overload
- this fucking whips, judau manifesting a stand after leina gets shot is so good. and then she manages to get them out without fighting!
-
Episode 28: Leina's Blood, Part 2
- this is a lot of action!
- leina attacking ple is really good especially because i don't know what ple was going for for certain
- unsurprising, and i don't think she's actually dead, but leina's 'death' and ple's reaction to it was really good. she was trying to take care of her!
- glemmy sucks so hard, he's such a creep
Episode 29: Runaway Roux
- roux is right, but also his sister just died! give him a minute!
- one thing that i don't like about this show is how in the first few episodes judau was the only one who could pilot the zeta, but now anyone can. what was that whole thing with fa? she deserved better
- the fights continue to be good. glemmy is stranded in the desert, which i love to see
- roux's deserting? excited to see where this goes
Episodes 30 + 31: Blue Team
- hmm. i'm going to be honest, these episodes really rubbed me the wrong way. i'm not going to really spend time on it, i just didn't really enjoy them
- the stuff with roux was mostly good, but i really wish the show had actually had the characters engaging with the whole uprising against imperialism aspect of the plot
Episodes 32: Beyond the Salt Lake
- haman karn backstory!
- i liked them all having a nice time at the beach for 30 seconds
- the glemmy stuff is WILD. did not realize he was planning that far
- fights cool, the whole beecha jealousy plotline was kind of whatever
- i'm completely back on board with the show after the last 2
Episodes 33: An Afternoon in Dublin
- cool stuff about the forests here, while bright reveals that he may not have changed out of his current outfit since the start of zeta
- i really like ple's whole deal, which i was not expecting. her running off here works
- the federation leadership here is impressively scummy, it's pretty good
- YOOO IT'S FA!
Episodes 34: Kamille's Voice
- ple wearing leina's old dress was a really good moment
- glad to see judau shooting at the pigs
- i'm really liking ple, i think she's going to die soon
- hey! kamille's alright! i hope, i think that's what's up
Episodes 35: The Sky is Falling
- oh shit, a colony drop? and it's making the more sensitive newtypes feel sick
- hayato grieving katz :( and fighting with judau over kamille :((
- hayato's death and the whole senseless violence thing really got to me
Episodes 36: Ple 2's Descent
- this show is really selling the devastation
- aw jeez, ple's not gonna make it. this is just like ryu
- ple's sacrifice saving judau and empowering him like kamille at the end of zeta hit for me. rip ple
Episodes 37: Nahel Argama
- what the FUCK. SAYLA??? WITH LEINA??? WHAT???
- obviously everyone here is right that they should not be using child soldiers, but then there wouldn't be a show
- why does mashymre look like that? and he was the one to do the colony drop????
- i love these kids
- rip the rose, too good for this sinful earth sphere
WILD episode. bye bright! and i think the kids are finally gone, thank god
Episodes 38: The Iron Wall of the Jamru Fin
- i like everyone being like 'judau snapped and forgot leina died' when we know he's right
- the jamru-fins look pretty cool
- emary is a poorly written character, like a throwback to zeta's misogyny
- the jamru-fin guys are like the black tri-stars except more competent
- this was kind of a whatever eisode
Episodes 39: The Second Coming of Sarasa
- oh god they're hiding as refugees
- i do like seeing the moon moon crew again
- this is a dumb plan, they can't actually take out the argama because haman's on there. if she wasn't they'd have won
Episodes 40: Tigerbaum's Dream
- it's cool seeing judau forced to confront someone who's just like how he was 40 episodes ago
- oh god this whole harem thing is gross
- why are forced crossdressing plots so common? you could write a fucking thesis on this shit in 80s anime alone
Episodes 41: Rasara's Life
- oh god rasara's dying, huh
- even though this whole arc kind of sucks i still like the characters
- yeah rasara died but we didn't actually see her get hit? it's really obvious the budget was stretched thin at this point
- i really like haman karn
Episodes 42: Core 3 Maiden, Part 1
- oh god chara soon is back and her outfit is even hornier
- christ this sucks
- ple 2 is good
Episodes 43: Core 3 Maiden, Part 2
- ple 2 is still good
- haman karn is also still good. i like her dynamic with judau
- ple 2's fight with judau rules
- glad to see the glemmy stuff finally paying off
- i don't have a single thing to say about the main plot of this 2 parter, it's totally fine
Episodes 44: Emary, Wilting Flower
- i assume emary's dead with a title like that
- mineva is also pretty good
- it rules that haman can't actually meaningfully articulate what makes her different from glemmy, though there clearly is one
- i also love that even though haman's probably bluffing judau decides he can't risk mineva's life like that
- oh hell yeah ple 2's new mobile suit looks sick
- on the one hand the last few episodes have been a slog, but with this i think the show is back in good form for a strong finale
Episodes 45: The Battle of Axis
- i like starting off by contrasting glemmy and haman
- lots of fighting, some of it pretty cool
- rip mashymre
Episodes 46: Vibration
- goddd this scene with sayla and bright is super good! i do think it's funny how there's no explanation for leina beyond "sayla saved me!"
- good insight into char as well
- everybody's dying, the gundams are getting busted up
- judau's argument with glemmy is good
- hell yeah! glemmy got fucked
Episodes 47: Warrior Once More
- ok we can probably give her a name better than ple two
- i don't think chara soon needed to die killing a ple clone, especially not in a way that shreds her clothes
- separating the zz like that is pretty cool
- and the fight ends with a sick beam saber single stroke duel
- haman is asked to have character development and chooses death
- the mineva in this show was a double???
- judau punching bright and moving to jupiter with roux is an amazing ending, the happiest i could ask for from this show
- sayla supporting a healthier sibling relationship than her own is good to me
- i didn't realize ple two was supposed to be dead until she wasn't here. i choose to ignore that, i think she's just still resting
- and fa and kamille are running happily along the beach together :)
